Prerequisites and User Permissions

Before you can manage component pricing in Eturnity, ensure you have the necessary permissions and access:

Required User Roles

Administrator: Full access to all pricing functions - can view and modify all component prices, price breaks, recurring costs, and pricing strategies
Project Manager: Can view pricing information but cannot modify prices
User: Cannot view pricing information

Important: Pricing management requires Administrator privileges. Project Managers can only view prices, and Users cannot access pricing information. If you cannot access pricing settings, contact your company administrator to verify your user permissions.

Understanding Eturnity's Pricing Framework

Eturnity's pricing system uses a multi-component structure that automatically calculates final prices based on your cost inputs and margins. Understanding this framework is essential for accurate project calculations and competitive pricing.

Price Components Overview

Every component price in Eturnity consists of three key elements that work together:

Cost Price: Your actual cost for the component from suppliers
Calculation Surcharge: Percentage markup for profit margin (e.g., 30%)
Installation Costs: Fixed costs for labor, installation, or additional services

The system automatically calculates the Sales Price using this formula:

Sales Price = Cost Price + (Cost Price × Calculation Surcharge %) + Installation Costs

This sales price is what Eturnity Expert uses for all project calculations and profitability analysis.

Setting Up Basic Component Pricing

Accessing Component Pricing Settings

Navigate to Library > Components in your Eturnity interface
Select the component you want to price
Click on the component name to open the detailed view
Scroll down to the pricing section in the component details

Configuring Price Dependencies

Price dependencies define what unit your pricing is based on. This determines how prices scale in projects.

Examples of available dependency options:

m² - Price scales with area (ideal for mounting systems, cleaning services)
Work hours - Price based on labor time (installation, maintenance)
Pieces - Price per individual item (modules, brackets, cables)
kWp - Price scales with system power (inverters, installation services)

Dependencies marked with (auto) enable automatic calculation based on project characteristics, reducing manual pricing work.

Choosing Price Type

Eturnity offers two fundamental pricing approaches:

Fixed: The entered price is used as a flat amount regardless of quantity
- Example: €500 engineering fee (one-time cost regardless of system size)
Proportional: Price scales based on the chosen dependency unit
- Example: €100 per kWp for installation labor

Advanced Pricing Configuration

Setting Up Price Breaks

Price breaks allow you to offer quantity discounts, making your pricing more competitive for larger projects.

In the component pricing section, click Add Price to create additional price tiers
Set the quantity threshold where the new price becomes active
Define the Cost Price, Calculation Surcharge, and Installation Costs for each tier
Repeat for additional price breaks as needed

How Price Breaks Work: The specified price applies from the price break quantity to the next price break. The last price break applies without limit. For example: 1-19 pieces at €250, 20-49 pieces at €230, 50+ pieces at €210.

Configuring Recurring Costs

For components requiring ongoing maintenance, subscriptions, or periodic services, set up recurring costs:

In the component details, locate the Recurring Costs section
Set the recurring price using the same Cost Price, Calculation Surcharge, and Installation Costs structure
Choose the frequency:
- Monthly
- Quarterly
- Yearly
Define whether these costs should be included in profitability calculations

Pricing Strategy and Optimization

VAT and Tax Handling

Quick Pricing Updates

Enable the pricing columns: Cost Price, Calculation Surcharge, and Installation Costs
Edit prices directly in the table for components with single price tiers
Components with multiple price tiers will show a link to the detailed view

Note: This quick edit feature only works for components with a single price tier and requires Administrator privileges. Multi-tier pricing requires editing in the detailed component view.

Use automatic pricing dependencies (marked with "(auto)") whenever possible
Set up proportional pricing for components that scale with system characteristics
Create standard price breaks for your most common components
Use consistent calculation surcharges within component categories
