Document Section in Eturnity Expert

Learn how to use the document section in Eturnity Expert to generate PDFs, preview documents, and manage various document types for your projects. This comprehensive guide covers everything from document generation to preview functionality and file management.

Understanding the Document Section

The document section in Eturnity Expert is a powerful feature that allows you to generate, preview, and manage various types of documents for your projects. This includes PDF proposals, technical documentation, regulatory forms, and project exports. The system automatically populates documents with your project data, ensuring accuracy and saving significant time compared to manual document creation.

The document section is accessible through Project > Documents in the main navigation. Here you can choose between individual documents (customized for your specific project) and standard documents (pre-defined templates for regulatory compliance and standard procedures).

Document Types and Capabilities

Individual Documents

Individual documents are comprehensive, customized PDF proposals that pull data directly from your current project. These documents contain multiple pages that can be individually selected and arranged according to your needs. The available page types include for example:

  • 3D Visualization Pages: Professional 3D renderings of your system design with multiple camera angles and perspectives
  • Economic Analysis Pages: Detailed financial calculations including payback periods, IRR, and cost-benefit analysis
  • Component Overview Pages: Complete lists of all system components with specifications, quantities, and technical details
  • Price Overview Pages: Comprehensive pricing breakdown including component costs, installation fees, and total project investment
  • CO2 Analysis Pages: Environmental impact calculations showing CO2 savings and sustainability benefits
  • Technology-Specific Pages: Specialized pages for different technologies (e.g., E-Mobility pages when technology is included in your project)
  • Technical Specifications: Detailed system specifications, energy production estimates, and performance calculations
  • Installation Guidelines: Step-by-step installation procedures
  • Project Summary: Executive summary with key project highlights and recommendations

You can customize your document by selecting which pages to include and arranging them in your preferred order. This allows you to create tailored proposals for different customer types or project phases. The detailed configuration and page selection process is described further below in this guide.

Standard Documents

Standard documents are pre-defined templates for regulatory compliance and standard procedures. These vary by country and include for example:

  • Swiss Incentive Forms: For heating system incentive applications (WPSM and incentive consulting forms)
  • French Regulatory Forms: CERFA forms and CONSUEL certificates for photovoltaic installations
  • Project Exports: Complete project data packages as a csv. file

License Note: Some document types may require specific license features. If you don't see certain options in your product, please contact support@eturnity.com to learn more about available upgrades.

Document Preview Functionality

  • Editable Text Fields: Adjust the editable text fields in the preview

Generating Documents

Step-by-Step Document Generation

After previewing and confirming your document settings, you can generate the final document:

  1. Final Review: Ensure you're satisfied with the preview before proceeding
  2. Generate Document: Click the Generate button to start the document creation process
  3. Wait for Processing: The system will process your document with all selected pages and settings
  4. Download Document: Once ready, download your completed PDF document

Document Generation Process

When you click Generate, the system:

  1. Validates Project Data: Ensures all required project information is complete
  2. Processes Document: Generates the document with your project data (typically takes 1-2 minutes)
  3. Provides Download Link: Makes the completed document available for download

During generation, you'll see a progress modal indicating the expected completion time. The system automatically checks the generation status and notifies you when the document is ready.

  • Automatic Storage: Documents are saved with descriptive names and timestamps
  • Easy Access: Find documents quickly using the file manager interface
  • Version Control: Multiple versions of documents are maintained for reference
  • Download Options: Download documents individually or in batches

Document Organization

The system organizes documents by:

  • Document Type: Grouped by proposal, technical docs, regulatory forms, etc.
  • Generation Date: Chronological organization for easy reference
  • Project Variant: Documents are linked to specific project variants
  • File Format: Clear indication of PDF, Excel, or other formats
